Clemson Baseball Wins Second Straight ACC Series

Tigers won the series Sunday over Notre Dame. Clemson's Atlantic Coast Conference opening was difficult.

The Tigers understood they needed a speedy turnaround after starting 2-7 against their first 3 opponents to have a chance at a successful season.

After losing the opening game to Notre Dame, they rebounded to win the series.

Due to their below-.500 record, program critics may have been reluctant to credit the series win over Florida State last week.

But, Notre Dame was 17-13 entering into this meeting, and when you insert a cross-conference success over SEC opponent Georgia.

This gives a much clearer picture of where coach Erik Bakich has his club at the moment.

After another Notre Dame revival, the series-clinching win was a back-and-forth struggle.

Billy Amick's 2-out double scored Will Taylor for the winning run.

The Tigers added another run to make it 6-4, and the bullpen finished the remaining two innings with no runs allowed, sending Clemson supporters home satisfied.

Pitching, defense, timely hitting—it. that's Championship baseball starts there.

That's playoff baseball. I'm glad we're improving in those areas because that's what it takes.
